Join us for a powerful, hands-on experience where growth meets purpose. Growing Tall: Cultivating Community invites our girls to step into the garden—gloves on, hands in the soil, and hearts open to learning.
Participants will plant flowers while discovering a deeper message: just like seeds, we all need patience, care, and the right environment to truly thrive. This experience goes beyond gardening—it’s about nurturing confidence, responsibility, and connection to the world around us.
Rooted in the rich history of Houston’s 5th Ward, students will also engage in meaningful environmental education, learning about the environmental challenges impacting the community, including the Cancer Cluster. Through guided discussion and reflection, they will gain awareness of environmental justice and the importance of advocacy, stewardship, and informed action.
